- The Yorkshire & Humber China Business Awards are the most prestigious international business awards in the region. All businesses with China links are encouraged to apply.
- The judges will choose one winner in each of the following categories: Best China Business, Best China Newcomer and Best China Education Links.
- The three finalists in each category will have a short film made about their business and achievements in China. The films will be shown at the China Business Awards ceremony, which will be held during the Yorkshire and Humber Chinese New Year Dinner at Sheffield United Football Club, Sheffield on Thursday, 11 February 2010
- The awards are open to any Individual, Company or Organisation that has made a significant contribution to developing business/network links with China during 2009 which may include import, export or investment
- Last year's winners were - Best China Business: Clyde Materials Handling
- Best China Newcomer: GAC Engineering
- Best China Education Links: University of Bradford
- This year the assessors will be judging the applications on the following criteria:
Evidence of direct business or investment links between China and the Yorkshire & Humber region.
The impact this has had on the business of the individual, company or organisation including evidence of real
income and profitability or added value from China. This must be shown in terms of simple quantifiable
information.
What steps were taken to achieve your success in China.
- The key to a successful application is a full description of your China activities backed up with real evidence and examples of how the business or links have grown or how challenges have been overcome in 2009.
- The assessors will select up to 9 finalists from the applications who will be interviewed and filmed.
